Yes, probably the coolest performers on America's Got Talent got even cooler as they performed their glow in the dark (well LED in the dark) Las Vegas ready routine to the song Feel So Close by Calvin Harris. Check it out...

Michael Grimm Beats Jackie Evancho, Fighting Gravity, and a Prince |
Say what?
Yup you heard it right... The winner of America's Got Talent 2010 is Michael Grimm. Wow... Michael beats the superstar of the show (Jackie Evancho), the coolest Las Vegas-ready act (Fighting Gravity) and the biggest display of flourishing character (Prince Poppycock) on last nights America's Got Talent results...
Didn't see that one coming... didn't even post any of his clips this entire season (until now).
He is a good singer, to his respect, and I thought he did perform the best on Finals night. He could also probably win American Idol. But this isn't American Idol...
It's America's Got Talent... a talent show for the best of all kinds of acts. It's a bit jumbling because, if anything, Jackie Evancho was the sensation of this year's show. She was also the reason many people starting tuning in to America's Got Talent (I actually tuned in when I saw Fighting Gravity) Maybe people didn't vote because they thought she would easily win? Could it be?
Well... speaking of Fighting Gravity... they are my favorite and of course they should have won, they are the Las Vegas act; throw a production budget on them, and they're prime gold, ready-to-go. But whadda you gonna do? I'm sure Fighting Gravity will headline in Vegas sooner than you think.
And for Prince Poppycock, that's a giant character. I'm sure Vegas will make room for him.
So what did you think about this season's America's Got Talent Finale?

Jackie Evancho's Finals Performance on America's Got Talent |
Jackie Evancho sings another perfect opera performance on the finals of America's Got Talent. Win or Lose, Jackie Evancho has already won; she's now discovered. I think I actually ran into her the other day... wasn't sure it was her, but definitely looked like her with her mom (Hey, it's not often you walk by a future superstar!) Anyways, here's another great performance on last night's show.

The Jackie Evancho train has left the station and is going full steam ahead. She definitely is a star already... At just ten years old, her voice is trained like a professional. What can I say? I want another act to win, but she definitely is in a league of her own.

America's Got Talent Top Ten Highlights |
America's Got Talent 2010 had it's toughest competition last night as most of the performers were amazing... Now on to the highlights.
Click for either FIGHTING GRAVITY or JACKIE EVANCHO Top Ten performances (yes, they get their own post!).
Here are the best of the rest...
Michael Grasso
Magic at it's finest... This guy definitely deserves to be here, and I would like to see another magic trick by him... Hopefully he goes through the top 4.
Studio One Young Beast Society
It's something that a dance group has made it this far on America's Got Talent. And they did a pretty awesome job, especially combing acrobatics with dance.
Prince Poppycock
Umm... I have no words to describe this...
The Rest
Christina and Ali: They're good, and America loves them, but I don't think they're the best singers.
Jeremy VanSchoonhoven: He's good at what he does, don't know if it's grand enough to make it the final round.
Taylor Matthews: He actually sang pretty well last night, even though it's not the type of music I listen to.
Anna and Patryk: Really good kid dancers, however they might be overshadowed by bigger acts.
Michael Grimm: The best singer out of the bunch. I would've showed his performance, but I think you want to see more of a spectacle than just a singer singing well.

Fighting Gravity Kicking Ass on America's Got Talent Semifinals |
Okay, so I was a bit nervous about Fighting Gravity performing in the semifinals of America's Got Talent since they haven't been on in some time, while other talents on the show have gotten a lot better. But after watching last night's performance, I thought Fighting Gravity did indeed step it up (which they had to!). Hopefully, they make it to the finals... Check it out it's pretty sweet!!

Jackie Evancho will probably win America's Got Talent, even though I'm really rooting for Fighting Gravity (as if you don't know by now). I must admit her voice is unfairly amazing. Here she is, amazing the crowd with the famous song that's signature Andrea Bocelli - Con te Partiro.

Wow! Week 14 was probably the best night of America's Got Talent in history. The talent was pretty amazing here were my favorites outside of Fighting Gravity and Jackie Evancho.

Magician
Michael Grasso
I'm glad they brought him back, his style is cool and slick, and his magic trick is pretty damn cool. I could see him as a total Las Vegas act.
Dancers
Studio One Young Beast Society
They showed off some pretty crazy skills...
Acrobatic Aerialists
Michael Lipari & Ashleigh Dejon
Okay, so I thought this was going to be lame at first, but it turned out pretty well. The music, the choreography, the drama. They might not make it to the finals, but understand, there's NO damn safety net!
Other Notables
Alice Tan Ridley - She sang a Whitney Houston song really well.
Maestro Alexander Bui - I don't know why Howie Mandel buzzed him, but that piano piece (Flight of the Bumble Bee vs Boogie Woogie?) is pretty hard to play.
Jeremy Vanshoonhoven - He fell... That's why I didn't post the video. Although, to his respect, he was performing with major injuries because of his giant fall during rehearsal which resulted in him going to the hospital. That's tough... I would have liked to have seen him perform at the top of his game.
Nathaniel Kenyon - Wasn't the best vocal performance, but he has the teen girl vote.

Jimmy Fallon's Funny Impressions on America's Got Talent |
Yes, Jimmy Fallon. I thought he was sort of funny on Saturday Night Live, then he tried a movie career that bombed. I have yet to watch his late night talk show, but I thought his impressions of famous comedians on America's Got Talent was pretty funny. Check it out if you missed it--->

ArcAttack booted from America's Got Talent Finals |
That's right people. They weren't my favorite act, but I was sure they would crack the top 10 on this year's America's Got Talent. Ouch! Even the huge acclaim from the judges couldn't persuade the voting public to push ArcAttack to the final round. I guess it was because it looked rather tame and uninteresting on TV, than watching it live in front of your face. I'm surprised that you can hear anything because anyone whose been around Tesla Coils knows how damn loud they are.
Most of the acts that went through to the finals of America's Got Talent were singers... which makes me think this will turn into a giant singing competition. As if there aren't many of those already. So... "you" have to vote for the best act if you want them to win. Yes, you Fighting Gravity fans, get out there and vote because most of the votes are gonna go to a cute little girl that can sing the opera (the voting public eats that kind of thing up).

The Best of America's Got Talent 2010 |
So maybe America's Got Talent is my guilty pleasure show of the Summer, but there is some cool and unique talent. It's down to the top 24 on America's Got Talent and tonight it will be whittled down even further. Here are my favorite picks (the best of America's Got Talent 2010) and what they need to do to win the million dollar prize and headlining show in Las Vegas.
Singers
This is a tough category because there are a few really good singers that stand out.
Alice Tan Ridley - Also know to many as Gabourey Sidibe's (star of the movie Precious) mom, who coincidentally, herself, is becoming a star.
What She Needs to do to win: Sing a big song (maybe some diva song like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey) and sing it pitch perfect.
Michael Grimm - I like his voice, he knows his own style and sticks to it.
What He needs to do to win: Just keep doing what he is doing, becoming more the showman everytime.
Jackie Evancho - Of course, she is the one to beat in this years America's Got Talent. She's got the singing ability and the fact that she is a little girl belting out those notes-- perfect voting material.
What She needs to do to win: Not have an off night and hope America doesn't get lazy in voting just because they expect her to win.
Prince Poppycock - This guy is truly his character, and he can hit those notes well.
What he needs to do to win: Tough one, but he's definitely heading in the right direction. My only question is if America ready for this kind of act?
Group Acts
Fighting Gravity - the coolest audition ever on America's Got Talent.
What they need to do to win: Take it up a few notches. I must admit although there second performance was great, I think they need to show us something new. Something more slick and mind-blowing than just giant tennis balls and running in space.
ArcAttack - Cool use of Tesla coils and using it as a midi-controller.
What they need to do to win: It's hard to feel the grandness of their performance (as very noted by the judges) through the TV. Last night's performance looked like they were just getting struck by lightning a billion times. So maybe they need to do something a bit more theatrical, towards a light-art performance kinda thing.
Magicians
Murray - Making a tiger appear in a glass cage while a woman appears behind Howie Mandel-- very Vegas.
What he needs to do to win: I don't know how much bigger he can go... It's a damn Tiger in a cage.
Michael Grasso - I always liked his slick style and glad they brought him back.
What he needs to do to win: Do something cooler and slicker than making a Tiger appear in a cage.
Other Acts
Jeremy VanSchoonhoven - Pretty cool trick biker.
What he needs to do to win: Since he'll probably be stepping up his tricks, he can't afford to make a single mistake, none. --Pressure is on.
Haspop - I liked his audition, interesting dancing and miming.
What he needs to do to win: I'm wondering if he has new moves and something more extravagant. It's hard to envision watching just one dancer headlining a show.
Anna and Patrick - Really good kid dancers, I think the boy maybe a little better than the girl, but the girl wears the pants in that family. heh.
What they need to do to win: tough call, they fit in more of a dance show competition than something as varied as America's Got Talent.

Should the 10 Year Old Opera Girl Win America's Got Talent? |
Yes, I'm talking about Jackie Evancho, the 10 year old opera singer that stunned America last week when she hit the stage on America's Got Talent. In fact, she was so good it sounded like she was lip-synching to a CD track. However, this has been proven wrong and that she indeed, can sing; hitting those unheard of notes from a mere 10 year old girl.
Anyways, the question resides: Does Jackie Evancho deserve to win? At first, I would totally agree yes because she does have the total package. However, I've come to realize that she already has an album out on iTunes and Amazon. Is that fair? You can check it out for yourself... Jackie Evancho: Prelude to a Dream.
Then again, many unknown singers already have albums released on iTunes or Amazon, since well... almost anyone can get there music on there. But where is the line between being a professional singer and being an amateur talent? My guess is that if you are already making a good living while singing, then you obviously won't get onto the show. Have you heard of Jackie Evancho before America's Got Talent? Probably not.
I'm just mad that my other favorite talent on America's Got Talent may not win now, unless they step it up a few notches.
What is your take on this? Does she Jackie Evancho deserve to win America's Got Talent even though she has an album out?

ArcAttack on America's Got Talent Quarterfinals |
The electrifying Burning Man-ish band, ArcAttack, played an wicked minute and a half on last night's America's Got Talent... It's hard to make it out on TV or on the internet, but their hand built Tesla Coils emit lighting that acts like a synthesizer. If I heard it right, one of the band members said their guitar is a midi-controller that shoots sound waves to the Tesla coil (or vice versa) which acts as a speaker... sort of. This must be pretty jaw dropping live... check it out.

JabbaWockeeZ back on America's Got Talent |
An awesome dance crew with an awesome routine back on America's Got Talent. The JabbaWockeeZ appeared on season 2 of America's Got Talent and were actually eliminated in the Las Vegas call-back round. They didn't give up, next auditioning for America's Best Dance Crew in 2008, where they eventually took the grand prize. And now they have a hit show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas... "So don't give up on your dreams... kids, even though you may fail many times over. Just push harder." - I guess that's the lesson we all can derive from the JabbaWockeeZ's experiences. Anyways, here's their awesome dance-robotish routine on last night's America's Got Talent results show.

Fighting Gravity on America's Got Talent (Quarterfinals) |
Well, it's down to the top 48 and hopefully the visual- dance group, Fighting Gravity, can make it through to the semifinals. I think it is the most unique and creative act on America's Got Talent thus far... an act with the most potential for a headlining in Las Vegas. Check it out if you haven't seen it... Here is their routine for the Quarterfinals.
