5 Coolest Movie Trailers... But the Movie Sucked.

Yes, I am probably gonna get flack for certain movies on here because I know there are a lot of fan boys. However, when I saw these movie trailers in the theater, I was amazed, and really wanted to see those movies; they were the coolest movie trailers. However, when I did see them, I wasn't really that impressed, "I was tricked again." So here are the top 5 movies that had the coolest trailers, in which the actual movie failed to deliver.

5) SIN CITY
I am going to get a lot of flack for this movie. However, when I did see the trailer, I thought it looked awesome. When I saw the movie, I was disappointed because it didn't have a lot of the action as the trailer intended, instead it was replaced by a whole lot of dialogue. I must admit though, I have grown to like it a little more since I first saw it.

4) SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW
What a cool movie idea, set in a the news-reel style of the 30s. A movie that features giant robots, an ace fighter pilot, and an aircraft carrier in the sky. Too bad the movie was well short on plot and character development.

3) GRINDHOUSE
Awesome, over-the-top, campy, action fun. Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror looked the best in the trailer, but after actually seeing it, it was the weakest (Watching an hour and a half bad movie, is still a bad movie that's way too long). Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof faired better, but the first half of it could be cut out. Interestingly enough, the trailers within the movie were the most entertaining part of the Grindhouse.

2) PEARL HARBOR
Michael Bay finally making a poignant film with amazing shots (remember that camera shot dollying down with the bomb?) and an epic storyline. Titanic fever heats up... Instead, Pearl Harbor fell short (oh man), and certified Michael Bay as a director that can only make things slick, fast, and big.

1) STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE
I just remember thinking, "Holy Crap, Star Wars is back!" It's too bad the three new Star Wars movies managed not to become the new classics of this generation.

Thanks for the digg. I liked parts of Grindhouse, but agree that it ran a little long.

Lol "It looked like there would be a lot of action but then turned into a lot of dialogue." Maybe you should see Transformers 2? What's wrong with an interesting story AND stylized action? Fail list is super fail.

Yeah, Transformers 2 was a mess albeit with cool trailer. Maybe this article needs an update...
