I rarely post random movie trailers, only when their are exceptions. And this is an exception... (I'm even posting on the weekend) Disney, has released the first trailer to the upcoming Tron Legacy, otherwise known as Tron 2.0 at this year's Comic Con. Bad ass... Check it out below.

G-Force Tops Harry Potter |
In an interesting turn of events, the guinea pig movie, G-Force, took the number one spot away from Hogwart's finest. What? Yes, it's true, as Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince dropped over 60% this weekend. Ouch!
In other news Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has moved into the number tenth spot of the highest grossing movies in USA , surpassing Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Uh, oh.
Weekend Estimates:
G-Force: $32.2 million ($32.2 million total)
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: $30 million ($221.8 million total)
The Ugly Truth: $27 million ($27 million total)
Orphan: $12.8 million ($12.8 million total)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $8.2 million ($171.3 million total)
-----
Three new movies open this July weekend, as all three seems to be battling for 2nd place behind last week's Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
G-Force
Why it might be a hit: Kids and Bruckheimer...Also that Chipmunks movie raked in over $350 million worldwide.
Why it might tank: Umm yeah... A movie about talking guinea pigs?
Orphan
Why it might be a hit: No other scary flick in sight.
Why it might tank: Not really loaded with star power or visual effects, like other summer flicks.
The Ugly Truth
Why it might be a hit: Summer's other romantic comedy, The Proposal, did well and that has already been in theaters for a while.
Why it might tank: So far, it's reviews haven't been so kind.
My Predictions:
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: $42 million
G-Force: $24 million
The Ugly Truth: $10 million
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $9 million
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $8 million

DJ Mix Review: Mixmag Presents Boys Noize - Electro Techno Thunder! |
I was kind of excited to listen to this CD as I've seen Boys Noize DJ and he brought the roof down. However, as you can guess where this is going, I realized that what I heard on the dance floor isn't necessarily what I want to hear on a CD when you are in your car. The Mixmag presents mix, encompasses the Boys Noize, techno glitch, and bleepiness, that he is associated with. It's a good mix, but something much better suited for the clubs.

5 Reasons Why James Cameron's Avatar Is Gonna Kick Ass |
With James Cameron's largely hyped Avatar about 5 months away from hitting theaters, I've decided to sit down and hype this movie even more. Yes, I've heard this guy is a douche bag, but he makes great movies. So in honor, here are 5 reasons why James Cameron's new movie, Avatar, will kick box office ass.
1) It's Been 12 Years.
Yes, It's been 12 years since James Cameron's last motion picture... A small, indie pic, called Titanic, I think it was called. It's still unbelievable that no movie has come close to it's $1.8 billion snag, in the twelve years since.
2) $300 million Budget.
Well, rumored so far, anyway. He was the first to make a $100 million movie with Terminator 2, the first to make a $200 million movie, with Titanic. Now he is treading the $300 million mark. The only movie that has that title so far is Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Yes, I know that movie was all over the place and Spiderman 3's $258 million budget didn't really constitute a good movie either). However, this is a James Cameron movie, so there.
Update: Yahoo! puts Avatar's budget around $237 million.
3) 3D - Tech.
A good portion of the money on this movie went directly into creating new 3D technology for the film. Supposedly the most advanced and state-of-the-art equipment. Raising the bar on performance capture, that was used in films like Beowulf and The Polar Express. However, this new technology seamlessly blends live action with computerized animation, unlike those movies mentioned, where it is entirely digital. Some people who were lucky enough to view clips from the movie, have found it the most innovative looking movie in years, or maybe ever.
4) Word of Mouth.
There's no trailer out so far (not even a teaser) and the movie is a mere 5 months away from being released. Despite this, the word of mouth has been huge. (Word on the street is that Fox plans to debut a trailer come August 21) Caused me even to blog about it. Many people say this will "change the way films are made." We'll have to just wait and see about that.
UPDATE: Trailer is here!!!!
5) It's a James Cameron Movie.
Come on, this guy did Terminator, Aliens, Terminator 2, The Abyss, True Lies (I liked it), and that ship movie. There will be a slim chance that this will blow.

Harry Potter's Magic Weekend |
Ok... so I was a little optimistic that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince would bank over $100 million this weekend since it's $22 million midnight opener. However, despite my valiant predictions, Harry Potter still claimed the top spot with almost $80 million.
In other news, it seems like everyone who wanted to see Bruno, saw it on opening weekend, as it dropped over 70% this weekend, slipping to fourth place.
Weekend Estimates:
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: $79.5 million ($159.7 million total)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $17.7 million ($152 million total)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $13.8 million ($363.9 million total)
Bruno: $8.4 million ($49.6 million total)
The Hangover: $8.3 million ($235.9 million total)
----
Well, the wait is over folks, as Harry Potter is back. Half Blood Prince was pushed from last November's line up because The Dark Knight proved too much of a success last year for Warner Bros.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Why it might be a hit: Umm... if you haven't heard of the Harry Potter phenomenon over the past decade, you are lame. Besides, it already beat The Dark Knight's record midnight screening debut with about $22 million.
Why it might tank: Fans getting old... Movie seems a little dark for tweenagers. Come on... being second to the last book, I'm sure this will do well.
My Predictions:
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: $105 million
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $15 million
Bruno: $13 million
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $12 million
Public Enemies: $8 million

DJ Mix Review: Benny Benassi - Toolroom Knights |
Sometimes I forget how hard Benny Benassi's style of music is... I mean it's not hard energy or whatever you call it... but he does deliver some pretty pounding house beats. Toolroom Knights essentially takes the Benny Benassi that's on the dancefloor and puts it on a CD or iTunes download. His song choice is good, although some of the songs can get a bit much, in terms of blaring repetitive floor craziness. It is a decent listen.

Bruno Tops the Box Office |
Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno topped the box office this weekend. With Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, following closely behind. An interesting note, however, is that Bruno made half of its estimated $30 million weekend on Friday alone, allowing for a steep drop off on Saturday and Sunday. Hrmm.... We'll have to wait to see how this plays out.
Meanwhile, the other newcomer, I Love You, Beth Cooper, managed to make about $5 million for a 7th place finish.
Weekend Estimates:
Bruno: $30.4 million ($30.4 million total)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $28.5 million ($120.6 million total)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $24.2 million ($339.2 million total)
Public Enemies: $14.1 million ($66.5 million total)
The Proposal: $10.5 million ($113.8 million total)
-----
"Borat was so 2006," as Bruno would say. Two new movies hit theaters this weekend. And one of them is, of course, Bruno. And the other is I Love You Beth Cooper.
Bruno
What it has going for it: Sacha Baron Cohen's previous effort, Borat made $26 million on opening weekend and went on to make over $128 million total. Bruno is getting mostly positive reviews.
What is has to work against: Borat was something different at the time. Now we are "like totally" aware of what to expect.
I Love You Beth Cooper
What it has going for it: Ummm... low budget, familiar story, teen comedy.
What it has to work against: That people know it's coming out this weekend
My Predictions:
Bruno: $28 million
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $22 million
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $19 million
Public Enemies: $14 million
I Love You Beth Cooper: $8 million

Transformers Edges out Ice Age |
In a very close match, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen reclaimed the weekend with a little over $42 million while Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs took in just under $42 million. Phew... that's close, it was tied as of yesterdays estimates.
Meanwhile, Public Enemies got a pretty decent debut for third place with $25 million.
Transformers 2 is now the highest grossing film of the year with nearly $300 million in two weeks. And The Hangover has now passed the $200 million mark.
Weekend Results:
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $42.3 million ($293.4 million total)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $41.6 million ($66.7 million total)
Public Enemies: $25.3 million ($40.1 million total)
The Proposal: $12.9 million ($94.3 million total)
The Hangover: $11.3 million ($205 million total)
---------
It's going to be tough pickins to dethrone last weekend's huge opener for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. However, since it is Fourth of July Weekend, expect some heavy hitters from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Public Enemies.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
What it has going for it: Third in a successful family series where the second one made $68 million on opening weekend. Also, with Pixar's Up having been in theaters for a while, families are anxious to take their kids to something new.
What it has to work against: Mediocre reviews at best.
Public Enemies
What it has going for it: Star Power: Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in a period gangster film.
What it has to work against: Being released in the wake of Transformers may not bode well. This looks like it should be released in the Fall season.
My Predictions:
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $67 million
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $55 million
Public Enemies: $23 million
The Hangover: $10 million
The Proposal: $9 million

Netflix Review: Twilight |
I'm gonna introduce something new and make a Netflix review corner... Since I don't have the time to see every movie in theaters. And what movie better to start with than Twilight.
Synopsis: Teen romance vampire-style.
Pros: Robert Pattinson.... oooh! he's dreamy.
Cons: Vampire mythology... They glitter like fairies when they are in the sun, that's why they prefer the dark? Play baseball only when it thunderstorms? What kinda mythology is that? Come on... Also, low-budget effects looking like low-budget effects.
Overview: Twilight offers a rather mediocre movie since I am not a teen girl (I actually thought I was going to hate this movie). However, the movie does seem leave room for potential. Hopefully, the director of the next film can polish the story up a bit and make it better.2.5 out of 5
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson
Directed by: Catherine Hardwicke
Running time 121 min.
Budget US: $37 million
US Gross: $191.5 million
Foreign Gross: $188.4 million
