So, Kaskade decided to upload his Coachella 2012 set to Soundcloud. That's pretty awesome of him. If you were there in attendance, then you can reminisce or if you weren't, this is how it went down.

20 Best Dance Songs of 2011 |
This was a really good year for dance songs, so compiling this list was very hard to do. There's probably more like 50 songs that can be interchangeable here. Anyways, here are numbers 20 to 11 and stay tuned for next week, when I release the top 10 Dance songs of 2011.
What are your favorite songs of 2011?
# 20 - 11
20) Justice - Civilization Justice's return... very nice hook. For some reason I like the Adidas commercial for this song better.
19) Britney Spears - How I Roll Yes, you might hate her being on this list, and maybe Till the World Ends or Hold it Against Me is better suited, however, this song is a nice weird break from the rest of the album.
18) Florence and the Machine - You've Got the Love (Mark Knight Remix) Huge dancefloor tune this Summer. Mark Knight's dark Techy House is a perfect match for Florence and the Machine.
17) Porter Robinson - Unison This 19 year old is on the rise with this epic Electro House tune.
16) David Guetta - Toy Story You might be wondering why Toy Story out of all of David Guetta hit's this year. Well, I found it the most interesting song and the most non-Guetta like on his album, and still uniquely awesome.
15) M83 - Midnight City I love M83, that's why they made this list. Yeah, you can dance to this.
14) Danny Daze - Your Everything One of those songs that gets even better the more you listen to it. Sick bass line, just makes you want to get up and get your boogie on.
13) Deadmau5 - Raise Your Weapon (Madeon Remix) 17 year old Madeon is my favorite new artist of the year, and his remix of this Deadmau5 is understandably why.
12) Nero - Me and You The first of Nero's anthem's to make it on this list.
11) Kaskade - Eyes Kaskade had to have made this list somewhere. Eyes is the most dreamy and epic song on his album. |

Album Review: Porter Robinson - Spitfire |
Porter Robinson - Spitfire
Style: Electro House, Dubstep
Pros: He's got a good sound.
Cons: A short album
Overview: First off, I am not the craziest Dubstep fan in the world, but I do like what Porter Robinson has to offer. Being 19, he makes some pretty good noise, and I am excited to listen to what his next album brings us. Spitfire speaks well to the audience of his age. And my only gripe about this album is that it feels like a 6 song EP with remix songs added.

Album Review: Kaskade - Fire & Ice |
Kaskade - Fire & Ice
Style: House, Melodic
Pros: Better than I expected it to be.
Cons: Not much.
Overview: I thought his last album Dynasty was an "okay" listen. So I expected much of the same. In many ways, Fire & Ice is the same, as Kaskade sticks to the a familiar sound we all know from him, but I think Fire & Ice just works better. And of course, with a name like Fire & Ice you have to have some sort of duplicity, in this case... two albums: one uptempo and the other a bit more mellow. I actually like both of them because both are well produced. If you're a Kaskade fan and don't have this album yet, then you're not really a Kaskade fan... so go get it.

Album Review: Justice - Audio, Video, Disco. |
Justice - Audio, Video, Disco.
Style: Electro, Disco, French Techno
Pros: The sound we expect from Justice.
Cons: Having to follow their ground-breaking first album, Cross.
Overview: Audio, Video, Disco. is a good sophomore effort for the French duo. Since their first album had many ground-breaking epic Electro slammers, one would expect a lot for their next album... and I, like everyone else, did. However, a lot has happened in music since 2007 and it would have been hard to keep that momentum going, even for a band as big as Justice. They would have to release an album with wall to wall anthems to make that happen. With that said, Audio, Video, Disco. is a good album, but if you were expecting something as mind-blowing as Cross, you might be disappointed.

Album Review: M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming |
M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
Style: Psychedelic dream pop
Pros: Nice escapist music.
Cons: If you don't like dreamy escape-like music.
Overview: M83 definitely fits into their own genre. Hurry Up, We're Dreaming is a nice continuation from Saturdays = Youth. It just makes me want to lie in a giant park with hills while this album blasts in my headphones... as I watch the butterflies and earth creatures fly about. Okay maybe not so over-dramatic, but you get the point. With that said, here's the negative: Hurry Up, We're Dreaming still doesn't quite grab me as well as Saturdays = Youth (which I enjoyed very much), but maybe time will tell. Also, there's a lot of M83 this time around, now covering over two discs, so some of you may think it a bit much of M83 to listen to. Anyhow, I do like this album. And if you are an M83 fan, then you probably will like it too.

Album Review: VHS or Beta - Diamonds And Death |
VHS or Beta - Diamonds And Death
Style: Dance Rock, indie Rock
Pros: A fun album
Cons: Not Much.
Overview: It feels like it's been a while since we last heard of VHS or Beta. And a lot has happened in the music world, especially in the Dance-Rock-Synth oriented style of music... with the rise of MGMT, Empire of the Sun, Foster the People and Friendly Fires just to name a few. So I was a bit worried that VHS or Beta's sound wouldn't be as enjoyable as it was back in the day. However, upon listening to Diamonds and Death, I did find it enjoyable. VHS or Beta manages to keep their unique style, but still push it forward a notch and make it worth listening to. And although this is not the most ground breaking album out there, every song on Diamonds and Death is worth a listen and you can listen to the album forward and back.

Album Review: Nero - Welcome Reality |
Nero - Welcome Reality
Style: Dubstep, Electro
Pros: Awesome music to blast out of your car stereo.
Cons: Album is in heavy rotation, meaning I will have less time listening to other albums.
Overview: Welcome Reality, the debut album for the Dubstep band, Nero, is pretty awesome. One of the best albums I've heard this year. There is deluxe version out now, including some pretty good tracks and even dope Drum and Bass tunes. However, this review is for the regular 14 track version, which is pretty awesome itself.

Album Review: Thievery Corporation - Culture of Fear |
Thievery Corporation - Culture of Fear
Style: Coffee shop music.
Pros: Good.
Cons: More of the same.
Overview: Culture of Fear is a good album. It is very consistent with Thievery Corporation's style over the years. You might say that is great, especially if you're a dedicated fan. However, to me, it seems to be more of the same... and nothing really extraordinary. With that said... Culture of Fear is a good album to listen to, and I'll most likely listen to it on a chill Sunday afternoon.3 out of 5

Album Review: David Guetta - Nothing But the Beat |
David Guetta - Nothing But the Beat
So I decided to split this into two reviews, since Disc 1 and Disc 2 are totally different (Disc 2 is the deluxe 10 song version only available on Beatport).
Style:
Disc 1: Pop dance, I guess just Pop now.
Disc 2: Techno, French Techno, banging house.
Pros:
Disc 1: n/a
Disc 2: it's not Disc 1
Cons:
Disc 1: F*ckin Autotune up the ass. Cheesy terrible Pop Music.
Disc 2: Should have left the song Lunar for Disc 2 only.
Overview:
Disc 1: Yes, like I said above, there is so much Autotune happening on this disc. Every guest Pop star in the world is on this album and most of them are Autotuned. Doesn't help that most of the songs song like sold-out cheesy Pop Dance songs. Although, I must admit this is smart of David Guetta, as he will keep raking in the dough, while keeping his name in the public.
Disc 2: Of course if you release something as selling-out as the first Disc, you must release something the more underground club kids will like... the people who knew who you were before the Black Eyed Peas. Disc 2 is much more manageable and there are no special guest vocals, no vocals at all. It compromises of some banging French Techno, sounding something coming out of a Daft Punk spaceship, some Trance, and there's also a little Dubstep Breakbeat in the mix, what? Yes, it's actually pretty good. So say what you must about his Pop side, I guess he just wants a bigger paycheck... David Guetta can still deliver a decent underground album.
Top Songs:
Disc 1: Where Them Girls At; Lunar; Titanium
Disc 2: The Alphabeat, Sunshine; Toy Story

Disc 2 3.5 out of 5 vinyls

Album Review: Booka Shade - More! |
Booka Shade - More!
Style: Electro Minimal Tech House
Pros: Very Booka Shade-ish
Cons: Movements is still a pretty damn tight album, and that was two albums ago.
Overview: More! from Booka Shade is one of those albums that you just have to get into. It may take a while, but it is pretty damn good. Don't think you can just scrub through the sample clips and conclude that it's all repetitive beats with no escapism... Like most things Booka Shade, you've got to listen to the songs in it's entirety to become enveloped into it. With that said, More! may not be as exciting as Movements, but I think it is better than there last album The Sun & the Neon Light (I may have to revisit that one again to refresh my memory).

Album Review: Gus Gus - Arabian Horse |
Gus Gus - Arabian Horse
Style: House, Techno
Pros: Relaxing but bouncy
Cons: Not Much.
Overview: Gus Gus' Arabian Horse is one of those albums that on the surface, you might find boring (unless you are a huge Gus Gus fan), but when you do listen to it, it takes you on a nice journey. It's also the kind of album that KCRW will play in it's entirety... maybe it's just me, but that's what I thought when listening to this album. Anyways, Arabian Horse encompasses everything we've come to know from Gus Gus over the years. I just wish they marketed this better because I didn't even know it was out for a while.

Album Review: Bassnectar - Divergent Spectrum |
Bassnectar - Divergent Spectrum
Style: Dubstep
Pros: Bass heavy
Cons: Must be heavily into the Dubstep.
Overview: Bassnectar makes some amazing beats, but if Dubstep isn't your thing it may be a little hard to get into. Divergent Spectrum is heavy in that direction, and it is the current craze with all the kids these days. Anyways, I thought Bassnectars newest album was nice to listen to... even though I am not the biggest Dubstep fan. Some songs are a little much for me... but a few are just perfect.
Top Songs: Rollz - Plugged In; Lights; Boomerang
