Inception Dreams up a Third Weekend

Inception claimed the top spot at the box office with over $27 million, this past weekend. Newcomer, Dinner for Schmucks, had to settle for second with about $23 million. While, Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, bombed with a paltry $12.5 million against its reported $85 million budget.

Zac Efron's Charlie St. Cloud managed to rank just behind Cats and Dogs with a little over $12 million, and with its terrible reviews, it will probably vanquish quickly from the box office.

Weekend Estimates:
  1. Inception: $27.5 million ($193.3 million total) Budget: $160 million
  2. Dinner for Schmucks: $23.3 million ($23.3 million total) Budget: $69 million
  3. Salt: $19.3 million ($70.8 million total) Budget: $110 million
  4. Despicable Me: $15.5 million ($190.3 million total) $69 million
  5. Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore: $12.5 million ($12.5 million total) Budget: $85 million

Previous Post----
A few new movies hit theaters this weekend, none of them I will probably see.

Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore
Why it might be a hit: The first movie made over $200 million worldwide.
Why it might tank: Who green-lit this movie?

Dinner for Schmucks
Why it might be a hit: no comedy out in theaters for awhile.
Why it might tank: Steve Carell does his most annoying character and so does every other actor in the movie.

Charlie St. Cloud
Why it might be a hit: Teenage girls like Zac Efron.
Why it might tank: Looks like a better than average TV movie of the week.

My Predictions:
Inception: $28 million
Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore: $24 million
Salt: $20 million
Dinner for Schmucks: $16 million
Despicable Me: $15 million
