Avatar Wins Best Picture at the Golden Globes... Say What?

I'm sure you heard by now that Avatar took the award for Best Picture Drama at the Golden Globes Awards. James Cameron also took the award for Best Director. I was actually quite shocked, like probably a lot of you. I was thinking maybe The Hurt Locker or Up In The Air would win Best Picture. Hrmm... I guess Golden Globes means a more global acknowledgment, and Avatar is totally global, according to its box office.

I don't hate Avatar, I actually think it is a good film. However, I think there are better films that came out last year. It also makes me wonder if James Cameron's sci-fi epic will follow in the footsteps of Titanic and sweep the Academy Awards too? What do you think?
