Synopsis: Read the book it's only 10 sentences long.
Pros: Visually great.. Great blend of visual FX with animatronics... Max is perfectly cast.
Cons: Feels a bit long and repetitive in the middle... Plot seems to thin out... My expectations.
Overview: Yes my expectations were high, and I did like this movie, but ultimately I was also disappointed. Mainly because the middle got a little tiresome and there were times when I was thinking "is this movie going anywhere?" I like the idea of the "wild things" monsters as psychological aspects of Max's personality, but also I wish these characters were developed further and provided a stronger story arc. I was a bit removed from these characters and really felt no emotional connect with them. Yes, it is great that they created an entire movie out of a ten sentence story, but ultimately I felt they could have pushed it further.
