DJ Mix Review: Global Underground 2009

Global Underground 2009, features tracks from Underworld, Deadmau5, Chromeo, Axwell, Dirty South, Booka Shade, and Steve Lawler, just to name a few. As the name suggests, this compilation features some of the big tunes in progressive house music of 2008 (even though 2009 is within its title). It is actually a pretty good compilation if you already don't have these songs. It isn't too over the top, like many year end annual releases, but has a nice blend of good progressive house music. There will be songs that you skip over, as some of them are quite boring, and there will be others that capture the moment. It isn't an amazing array of songs, and would benefit if there were less tracks, but it works as a whole. Global Underground 2009 comes as an unmixed compilation as well as two mixed versions. If you can find it on iTunes, it is a steal, because there are 34 tracks for $10, and this includes the mixed versions also. My only real drawback, is that a couple of the songs that I download, were a bit corrupted (you know having that digital glitching corrupt sound), but other than that, it is worth the money.
Top Tunes: Deadmau5 Feat. MC Flipside - Hi Friend, Axwell & Dirty South Feat. Rudy - Open Your Heart, Japanese Popstars- Rise Of Ulysses (Dave Lievense Remix)
3.5 out of 5 (for bang for your buck)

Deadmau5 - Hi Friend
