10 Best Albums of 2012

This list took the longest because I had to re-listen to all those albums that I liked from 2012, and the result? It's a pretty damn tough list to go through.  Yes, it's mostly electronic music, but that's what this blog is about.  There are a few non-electronic albums, maybe some surprises too.

Here are the 10 Best Albums of 2012:

Just off the list: Adrian Lux, Two Door Cinema Club - Beacon, Passion Pit - Gossamer, Klaypex - Ready to Go, Miike Snow - Happy To You, Santigold - Master of My Make Believe.

10) Netsky - 2
Let's see, Hospital Records has been great this year.

9) Lana Del Rey - Born to Die
I didn't think I'd like her dark moody, depressing take, but I guessed wrong.  Love or hate her, I thought she was something unique to happen in 2012.

8) deadmau5 - Album Title Goes Here
The mau5 turns in an album that isn't saturated with famous guest vocals from the Pop world and it sounds great.

7) Calvin Harris - 18 Months
Now, this song has some famous guest vocals from the Pop world, but it's Calvin Harris, so it's good.

6) Walk The Moon
My Indie-Coachella band breakthrough artists of the year.

5) Mord Fustang - All Eyes On Mord Fustang
Electro - Complextro whatever. This guy releases first album including all his hits how can it not be on this list?

4) RAC - Chapter One
RAC releases their ultimate remix album from their work over the past couple of years.  It's kind of unfair... but it's too good not to put on this list.

3) Niki & The Dove - Instinct
A weird and interesting sound not heard since The Knife.  I like.

2) Pryda - Eric Prydz Presents Pryda
Speaking of unfair albums... Eric Prydz released his first album, that includes almost every song he made under the Pryda name.  I just wish he included Everyday on this album too (I know it's under Eric Prydz).

1) High Contrast - The Agony and the Ecstasy
The soundtrack to the 2012 Olympics... Yes, he did score the London Olympics.  This album came out very early in 2012 and it's awesome.
