Movie Review: The Hurt Locker

The Hurt Locker
Synopsis: Defusing bombs in Iraq.
Pros: Intense, good acting.
Cons: Somewhat predictable.
Overview: The Hurt Locker is an intense movie, that captures the reality of being in the United States' Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit. Director Katherine Bigelow did a good job of turning $11 million into a suspenseful action picture.

I have heard many good things about this film, and I was very excited to see it. However, I did have small problems with it---

Spoiler Alert
(dont read the next portion if you are planning on seeing it): Such as... it became somewhat predictable as to what was going to happen, especially introducing certain characters you know are going to get killed off. Also, I didn't like the fact that the money shot of the movie trailer, happened within the first ten minutes of the film. And I do wish we delved deeper into the psyche of the main character... Yes, a little bit more (that may be a more artistic choice).

OK to read now: However, despite that above paragraph, I did enjoy the film. so....
3.5 out of 5
