Event: Glow - Santa Monica

As you well know, the Glow Festival, art show, festivities, or whatever you call it, happened last weekend in Santa Monica. I'm not gonna hate on it like many people, but I am going to say that it was worth the price of admission(it was free).
Umm...well, what is there to say? It seemed like one of those events that was way over-hyped, and when you got there you were like, "oh." I was kinda expecting some Daft Punk L.E.D. laser pod or Kanye West Glow in the Dark tour stuff. Well, maybe I shouldn't have set my expectations so high. I couldn't help it. Some of the actual installations seemed like a bunch of inflatable bags with some lights thrown in it to make it 'glow.' Well, on the bright side, the city of Santa Monica made a crap load of money that night. I heard in the neighborhood of 200 thousand people descended upon this event.
I am all for events like this, it's a great idea. And Hopefully, if they do it again next year, they now know where to go from here. It would be cool to get some of the art installations like the fire-breathing robots, or the glow tunnels they have at Coachella and/or Burning Man. And well, have DJ set ups in more places than just on the pier.
